Today I Broke Out The Players Pack 'Sheeds. I've Been Wanting These Since Their Release In February 2007 During The NBA All Star Weekend In Las Vegas. These take me back to 8th grade when MJ came back to the Bulls for the last 17 games of the 1994-95 season. Their first game was an Overtime road loss to Indiana on March 19, 1995. I had the shadows by then but as soon as I saw these I wanted them. This was the first time that I can remember a Jordan being released that didn't come out everywhere. They came out with the powders around that time, but I wanted these. I remember some of my classmates getting the powders and coloring the blue strips red. I knew if I was lucky enough to get the powders my dad would've looked at me crazy if I did that. I remember him getting me the 94 1's around this time since they were on sale for 55 bucks at Champs and being mad at me for not tying them up all the way. I still have those 1's. I had to get another pair of shadows around 2003 because my OG pair was TOO done.

Like most shoes, I reminisce about these because I've always wanted them. I felt that these would've been better in the first countdown pack then those sorry ass shadows. Think how much more that countdown pack would be sought after if they put the Playoff 13's and these Chicago 10's. I have the Playoff 13's, but I would've gotten that pack if they did that.

I get so much joy out of the Lakers winning because there are so many people here in Cleveland on Cavs crack like I've said in previous posts. The Lakers are going to their 15th NBA Finals Appearance in my lifetime (1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2009). They beat Denver ass on their own court. Barring injury, I think they could take the Cavs or the Magic.

Anyway, Before that I went to Beachwood Place and I took Z some huge sunflowers. It apparently brightened up her day though she did trip a bit about how much I paid for them. eh. what's new. It was nice to be at Beachwood again though it is HYPEBEAST HEAVEN....

I've gotten some PM's and emails asking where I've been in regards to not posting on Niketalk, ISS, NSB, Sneakerfreaker, and even FSF. I appreciate the concern, but the shoe person in me is asleep. It isn't by choice, but I can't be on the boards when 90% of my clothes and all of my shoes are in storage. All I have with me are my pairs LeBron 6's that I've bought since I lived here, some Goadomes, some black timberlands, some semi beat Air Max 03's and the chucks pictured above are all I have here. I know i'm not the only one suffering due to this recession, but for me to go from a 4 bedroom house in Shaker heights to living in a 1 bedroom place in a 4 suiter house in the hood has been a mentally draining experience. I finally got promoted to management at GameStop so things are starting to look up. It's funny, 'cause the people around here don't know me, and I can tell that they think I can't dress......they just have no idea. The bill for the storage is killing me though. It's like 200 a month. I could fake it like some and just post pics of shoes that are saved on my comp, but that just makes me mad when I think about it. I just hope next month this can be over with and I can move out of here. Thank god for month to month.

I got caught in an awkward situation earlier before the game. I ordered pizza from Papa Johns and the old lady next door asked me if I saw some keys and the cluckhead bitch from across the hall asked me if she could have some of my pizza. I could clearly see that I wasn't with it, but I said fuck it. She said she'd pay me a dollar for the slice, then her bitch ass didn't even have it. I HATE WHERE I LIVE.

Then after that I went with Z to the Cavs watch party at Quicken Loans. It was Game 3 of Cavs Vs. Magic. The Cavs lost. Z was pissy.

Saturday....helping my mother move....it was supposed to be other folks helping, but it ended up just me being myself, my dad, and my sister.

The Title says it all....Everyone is so high on the Cavs that it's sickening. Z , all of my friends, relatives, co-workers, customers, old people, everyone. Shits crazy. This reminds me of when the Indians were good in the 90's and everyone had the jerseys and hats, niggaz had the kit where you could have the indians script and/or the chief wahoo logo in your grass....everyone was on it, but now that the indians are the worst team in baseball, you can't find that anymore. People also get it twisted that I'm agasinst them, and that simply isn't the case. I love how LeBron is a throwback player from the 70-90's and not really like most of the other players today, but people are running around saying the Cavs are a great team and they haven't won shit yet. I'm happy that the Cavs are finally a possible powerhouse team after 39 years of mediocrity with some "good" years sprinkled in there. I've been a Laker fan since the 80's, so how would I look jumping on the bandwagon now that they're good. I own LeBron jerseys and I have atleast 3 colorways of every LeBron sig that Nike has put out since he was a rookie in 2003-04. I have every LeBron commercial that Nike has made on my Zune. I even have an Austin Carr mitchell and ness jersey from 1975-76, but I'll never like them like the Lakers...It just won't happen.

This Morning Me, My Dad, And Deacon Lockett got together for breakfast at Broadway Pub right next to South High School in the Fleet Neighborhood. I love Deacon but he's another on that Cavs high. We Debated why the Cavs are allegdly better than LA.

And...This Character feels like since I'm from Cleveland that I'm a traitor since I like the Lakers. Shit Is Stupid Though She's Very Intelligent....smh.

Anyway, Yesterday THE LAKERS BEAT THE FUCK OUT OF THE ROCKETS!!!!!

This was great because of the L that the Lakers took on Sunday. The Lakers ended up winning by 40....78-118.

Before that Danielle and I hung out for the majority of the day and it was nice. We went to the Gyro George on Harvard and then we went to the metroparks and Steelyard Commons where I got an application for Buy Backs...a store which is very similar to Cd/Game Exchange. The application was like 5 pages long though but eh. We also went to Best Buy where she tried to further decide which she was gonna get between the Ipod Classic and the Zune 2. I also got to see her dad...I don't think I've seen him since 2004 or 2005 if memory serves my right.

I love these shoes. I had them the first time when they came out in fall 1991 when I was in 5th grade. I wore these til I couldn't wear them anymore. I love the purple and the black, the big "AIR MAX" on the back, the tongue....everything. When they retroed them in 2003, I had to get them, and I was with Footaction at the time and we couldn't give these away. Like most people though, the poor quality of the paint and midsole takes away from the shoe on the 2003 retro, and from what I hear, the retroes from last year did the same thing. I'm surprised at how much these go for on ebay nowadays....especially considering that we had them on sale for about $40 at one point, and other places had them as cheap as $20.

I just found out that one of my old flames Kelli got married after not being with her dude that long. I'm not hating by any stretch of the imagination, when I see peers get married and I can barely stand to be in a relationship, it makes me wonder about myself and makes me doubtful about married one day.

Anyway, I've posted on NT here and there, but not the daily WDYWT like I'm used to doing. Hopefully soon I can do that. Yesterday, I really didn't do anything but work, I caught parts here and there of the games....I saw LeBron dunk twice before I had to go in, and we had the game on at work, but no one could really focus on the game too much because we were busy. I missed LeBron's half court shot because some bitch kept asking me about DS stylists for her bratty ass kid. Figures. On Friday, I hung out with Krystalynn for the first time since her birthday last month. We went to Olive Garden. She actually got a lil' tangy about the mouth because we were originally gonna go to bravo, but we were both high and we figured Olive Garden would be better for the occasion.....whatever.

On Thursday Z and I met downtown....she was late...like always, we ate on the food court, then came back to my house to chill out (what's new), and that was cool.

On Wednesday, Dad and I went to the last Cavs home game against the 76ers.
LeBron, Z, Mo Williams, and Joe Smith didn't play but it was Fan appreciation night since it was the last home game and stuff got given away like Jerseys, Shoes, Plasma Screens, a Kia Soul, and random other things. We had good seats....a few rows up from where Z and I saw the Lakers in february. We didn't get anything for free other than a Poster, some free nachos, and some free cookies....shit that everyone that came to the game got. I almost caught a free t-shirt, not once but twice....the guy next to me got one, and a woman behind me got one, but when I realized that they weren't Cavs shirts, I really didn't give a fuck. The Cavs lost to the 76ers 101-100. Only the 2nd time this season they've lost at home. People say I'm a Cavs Omen because I'm such a lakers fan.

I love these. I also always get a kick out of my typing in the shoe name at google and my personal pic comes up. This is an old pic of them two years ago when I first UNds'ed them. I'm so glad they didn't crack. I found them at a Dallas Shoe Warehouse in 2003 after coming from seeing 2 Fast 2 Furious. They were the only Nikes in the whole place and they even had the original orange and grey Nike Air Box which was awesome. They were only 20 bucks!! I had to get 'em. I think these would do good as a retro especially in this colorway. I remember these being one of the back to school shoes that everyone had in 7th Grade. Either the ones I have on pictured, Black/White/Purple, or White/Grey/Blue.

These are the only Black/Red Air Jordan's that I've never owned. Don't ask me why I have 3 pairs of Olives...1 OG and 2 retroes. These are one of the few Jordans that I would still line up for. I've seen a fusion version of these and anyone who knows me knows that I don't really care for fusions even though I own a pair of Fusion 5's and Fusion 12's....both were gifts though. I have not been able to secure a pair of OG's on the bay either. The grey is what sets this shoe off. Pure beauty. I want these so bad I actually though about getting the Charcoal 9.5's that came out on my birthday in 2006. Couldn't do it though. I really wish these would retro. THE TITLE SAYS IT ALL.

Z and I couldn't get tickets to the Cavs Game on Saturday because Quicken Loans was COMPLETELY SOLD OUT. The Hawks are middle of the road....a playoff team, but not a team that we predicted would sell out the place, but since the Cavs are #1 in the NBA for the first time ever this late in the season...add that to the warm weather we've been experiencing lately....add that to the very yuppie corporate nature of attending Sporting Events these days, and waa-laah!!!! SELL OUT.

However, that is not what I'm miserable about.

Z and I went to Burger King at Cedar and Warrensville.....anyone who knows me knows I LOVE Burger King....McDonald's and Wendy's are great....but not BK. So we both get the same exact thing except I got mayo on mine. We eat, get back to her place, watch the Cavs, and by halftime, everything seemed chopped & screwed....or should I say dragged & chopped. All of my energy was completely gone. I'm used to the itis like the next man, but this was different.

Fast forward about 7 hours.

Z and I are at the Water Street Grille....a nice little place on West 6th....I like it, she loves it, and it was the first place her and I ever went out to shortly after we met 2 years ago. We order the drinks, and the appetizer, and I get the horrible feeling like if I don't get out of this dining room, I'm gonna vomit all over the table, her, and the appetizer.

I run downstairs to the bathroom and vomit all over the floor. smh.

What was embarrasing was I had to tell the server what I did. He was cool...sorta looked like this dude but a bit shorter......

What's Weird is...after I threw up, I got a huge energy boost and I thought that was all over.....BOY WAS I WRONG. I ate what I had originally ordered and was good for about an hour and a half....then during the Lakers Vs. Bulls game.....part 2, 3, and 4 of what happened at the restaurant. If there's any solace, at least at my house, I was able to make it to the toilet bowl.

Since saturday...even though I worked yesterday, my stomach has just been all fucked up....I haven't been able to keep anything down. I'm afraid to leave my house. Z was mad she had a little cold, but right now, I'd take that over this.

Since my last post before all this happened, I was blessed enough to get a new Zune, though It pretty much killed my pockets. I got a red 120GB.

My Broken 80GB will be on Ebay for sale in the next few days or so.

David Robinson's shoe in 1991. I've always wanted these. I've almost won them on Ebay a few times to no avail. I remember these being 150 back then....and at that point the only shoes I remember being more expensive were 1989's Air Pressure.

Anyway, I wonder how these would do as a retro....The Air Force 180 mid Barkley didn't do all that well at 125 when it retroed in 2005, 2007, and they just came out with more colorways for them last month.

I Absolutely Love These BTW. I own 3 colors myself...the 76ers road colorway (pictured), the olympic colorway, and the Premiums that came out in 2006 as a part of the huarache pack.

I think the mids would sell better if more people knew they were Barkleys. Oh well. I guess with the highs, I'll have to keep trying to win them on that bay.

Things have been very busy lately. I haven't really been able to be online as much because of work, looking for a second job, and other things. I actually have a 2nd interview at Yours Truly...a restaurant not too far from my house....it's at Shaker Square. I'm interviewing to be a server....something I haven't done since May, 2001. I remember when I did it at Ruby Tuesday, I had so much money....and it enabled me to get pretty much any shoe I wanted....and at that time, that's when they were bringing out all the Retro 11's....I still remember my manager being pissed at me because I was late to work getting the Cool Grey 11's. I don't have that job anymore, but I still got those shoes doe! LOL. I don't have high expectations of this though because they want me to memorize the entire menu....that shit just isn't happening.

Last Night, Zarinah and I watched the Lakers narrowly escape defeat against the Houston Rockets....a team much like the Portland Trailblazers that worries me as a Laker fan because they just seem to have the Lakers' number everytime they play.

Well, We celebrated Zarinah's birthday over a two day span by going to Winking Lizard at Huron and Prospect and then to the Cavs/Lakers game and then going to Olive Garden with her mother the day after....for the most part it was fun.

We were right behind the Lakers basket in the first half. I've never been that close without being on the side. It looked as if the players were running at us. They were great seats! The only time I couldn't really see was when the players were shooting free throws.

As much as I enjoyed the game, the commercials sucked ass to me and the only one that stood out was the one where the NFL players were doing ballet dances....and the only reason I remember that was because we were actually talking about how Ray Lewis was still effective, but not how he was 3 or 4 years ago and than he appears on the screen wearing a Ne-Yo type hat and dancing attire. I had at least 6-7 beers, 3 shots, and we smoked about 3 blunts total........

Today kinda started with work....This redbone chick that works there rubs me the wrong way with some of the dumb shit she says and does so I don't really fuck with her like that, but I try to be cordial as I can be, and the assistant manager is a clown, and the nigga stole one of my sales because this woman wanted to buy a hard drive and a play and charge kit for her son's 360. I try to let that kinda shit roll off my back, but I'm not exactly happy with my job because it seems every week they're cutting the hours more and more. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm thankful to have a job because so many people don't, but I can't live off of what they pay and then them trying to cut hours too. After the people I mention a few moments ago left, it was me and the general manager which is great because dude actually works instead of just talking loud and not saying nothin. I sold a little over 2,000 and got 2 subs...which if you've worked for GameStop before know how difficult it can be to get people to buy subscriptions to our magazine so we can issue discount cards....I was pumped...but then the general manager got like 8. Shit made me salty.

Then Nikki came in the store and visited me since she's in town....it actually wasn't that bad.....

After work, the general manager and I had some drinks at A Touch Of Italy which is a bar across the street from the job. I had like 5 or 6 St. Pauli Girls.....shit was fun.

I left my phone inside the job though which sucks because I've got to go up there tomorrow and get that shit before the Cavs/Pistons game. Oh well.

At A Touch Of Italy, I met 2 nice women named Connie and Adrian. Shit was fun.

Yesterday I didn't really do shit but chill at the house and watch NBATV. Then around 9 I went with my dad to my aunt's house because my cousin Joi turned 27 on Jan. 27th so she got a bunch of food and beer together and we fell through. My sister was already there when we got there and it was great because all the Heineken was pretty much for me and Joi since no one else drinks!!!!

Well, Well, Well....what do we have here....another trainer from the mid to late 90s that's damn near impossible to find. I have been looking for these FOREVER. Nike retroed these in 2001-02 as a footaction exclusive, but in white/navy blue. I miss those days when footaction used to get their own colorways and shit. Footlocker bought them in 2004 when they were going bankrupt and they haven't gotten shit like that since. I'm a lil' geeked so the word shit might pop up a few more times...but fuck it. I guess I should call this yesterday since it's 2am, but today was ok. I hung out with my dad and he explained to me the difference between the two million different cowboy shows he watches on Encore westerns and AMC......LOL.

Then I met Zarinah downtown because she bought Cavs tickets. Yay. I wasn't too up about the game because it was against the Sacramento Kings....who haven't been good since the teams of Webber, Stojakovic, Bibby, Christie, Divac, and Bobby Jackson. It was a nice gesture though considering we've been beefing a bit lately. We ate at tower 230 at the top of Tower City and since it was happy hour, all the appetizers were 5 bucks and the beer was cheaper, but they never include shit that I drink....Heinekens, Corona, or Blue Moon.

So we get to the arena, and there are kids everywhere...AND I MEAN EVERYWHERE....then I realize that it's McFamily Night....something that the Cavaliers and McDonald's have where you can get 4 extra value meals, 4 tickets, and a parking pass for like $72 dollars. I honestly think I got up 50 or 60 times during the game.....smh...Then a girl at a concession stand asked me why I was wearing some Black and Purple Nikes with fatigues....and I ask "WHY DOES THAT MATTER TO YOU??!!"

I Guess the tone I used might've been taken by some as abrasive because she just looked at me and the rolled her eyes and looked away. LOL.

The game itself was good....the Cavs won with both LeBron James and Mo Williams getting triple doubles, and Mo scoring a career high 43 points.

Sacramento held tough though with Kevin Martin....the Danny Granger of the western conference with 30+. LeBron had 23 points and 11 assists. After getting into it with Zarinah about some dumb shit, I went to watch the Lakers play the Charlotte Bobcats with my father........

They were close with Charlotte the whole way....going into to overtime with them twice. I knew chances were slim of them winning when Kobe fouled out right before the end of the first overtime. smh.

The Lakers are lacking toughness.....Derek Fisher and Kobe bring it every night....Bynum is getting back to where he was last year before his injury, but Odom and Gasol along with some of the Laker bench is too erratic for me sometimes.....some of those guys are absolutely useless if their shots aren't falling...cough...cough....Radmonovic....cough cough...Vujacic.... I'm not sure why Phil hasn't started starting Odom with Gasol and Bynum up front....what could happen???

And then yesterday Nikki kept calling me......

I used to date her in 2005 and 2006 after me and my ex Danielle parted ways, but since we've dated, Nikki has decided that she's a lesbian and she moved to San Francisco this past year. I have nothing against lesbians, but if that's what you are, why the fuck do you wanna be bothered with me? You live 3,000 miles away....You've got a beautiful girlfriend that could get it...AND I MEAN GET IT....I guess she's coming back to visit her peoples but she wants to get together, but I'm not sure why??? I asked her and kinda let it be known that if the nature of us getting together wasn't in the same context that it was before, that it was no point. Am I wrong for feeling that way?

LOL. I can laugh about it now, but this girl did me so dirty that I actually related really well with Carl Thomas' "I wish", because I wish I never met her....AT ALL.

Today was ok. I worked from 11-9pm....but my dad called me to tell me that my friend Melanie had passed away. She had cancer. I couldn't believe it believe it because she appeared to be getting better. Her dad is one of my dad's best friends. If there's any solace, at least she doesn't have to suffer anymore. The last time I saw her, she thanked me because I hooked her and her dad up with an 360, 2 wireless controllers, and GTA IV for 220 from when I was still at CD/Game Exchange. I never know what to say at times like this.

And I look at myself at times like this like a little bitch. I say that because I've been in a funk the last 6 months or so because I've lost a lot of material things with some monatery value, but this girl was battling cancer....trying to hold on and I'm pouting because I can't buy as many shoes as I used to.....or ride around in the car I used to. Right now I'm feeling like I need to get about a 100 of those blue mean smh smiles they use on message boards like NT. She was a wonderful person, and I wish I could've gotten to know her more than I did. She was 26.

Like I said in my previous blog, I been listening to a lot of Old DSR...like 04-05...
Forgot how much I liked this shit. The Lakers beat the Cavaliers which I'm very happy about since everyone here in Cleveland thinks that LeBron James is the second coming of MJ. Not that I don't like LeBron, because I think he's great for the city of Cleveland and especially Akron, but with that being said, in a basketball sense, I still feel the Lakers are a better team. Besides, I want the Cavs to do well (just not when they play the Lakers), but I can't be one of these frontrunner fans (that's all Cleveland is for the most part), that just because the Cavs are good now, I gotta jump on their dicks like everyone else. Since then, the Lakers have beaten the Clippers and the Wizards....like that was gonna be hard.

I got these for Christmas in 1996 when I was a sophmore in high school. I looooveeee these shoes, but I'm having a very difficult time trying to find them in good condition again. My pair from high school belong to my dad now and he does yard word in them so you can only imagine how fucked up they look.

I know that these wouldn't sell well if they retroed but I need these in the collection badly. If you have any in good worn condition 10.5 to 11.5, hell even a 12, get at me!!! The black pair and the TB's are welcome too I guess, but I really just want this colorway pictured. I'm also not interested in the turf version with no air bubble. Someone has to have these.....

Sorry...I been listening to a lot of old DSR lately.

Today was a basic day....I went to work in the morning and it was dead for the most part until the UPS man brought our Nintendo Wii's!!! I sold 4 of them before I left. It was decent....Myself and my co-worker watched Eagle Eye.

It was a great movie and I wouldn't mind owning it. I later watched the Lakers and Spurs and I thought it was gonna be a sequel to last night where Kobe hit a three to pretty much bury the Rockets. Kobe hit the three, but at the very end Derek Fisher fouled Roger Mason with the Lakers up by two....Mason got an And 1.

Weak.

Shit put a damper on the entire evening.

Well....hopefully the Lakers smarten up and sign Robert Horry back...he's a free agent and he's not doing anything else since the Spurs didn't keep him.

To me, he could do for the Lakers what P.J. Brown and Sam Cassell did last year for the Celtics. Also, the Lakers D is a far cry of what it was during the Kobe-Shaquille Championships or the way Phil got the Bulls to play lock down defense in the 90's. I think a lot of that is because these Lakers don't have the court savvy vets to carry out Phil and Tex's defensive schemes. If you look at those Bulls and Lakers teams Phil coached in the past, that's one consistent thing....court savvy vets.

Memo to Gasol.....Tighten up that D!!!! PLEASE!!! Duncan had him looking like toast in the latter parts of the 4th quarter. I was starting to get flashbacks of the NBA finals when Garnett dunked on him in Boston.

Yeah, I know I'm a little late, but happy new year. It's Sunday, and I really should be at church, but right now I seem to be dividing my time between NBA TV, and the internet. I've really gotta get back to going....I haven't been regularly since like April. Today, I'm waking up to a ridiculous amount of snow...so that means that certain shoes I thought about wearing this week will have to go back in their boxes until some of this melts.

I'm pumped about this year shoe wise as far as upcoming releases, and I can't remember the last time I felt this way....there are so many shoes coming out that I want to get. I have more than half of them as OG's, but certain ones are starting to show their age...i.e...my Griffey 1's, Bordeaux 7's, and Total Max Uptempos to name a few. Anyone who knows me through shoes knows how much I love Bordeauxs, but there hasn't been any concrete proof that they're supposed to retro. I've also heard that they may bring back the French Blue and Black/Red 7's again as well....but my 2002 pair are still NDS of the Black/Red....I had the French Blues but sold them in 2006 for a nice amount, they were a lil' too snug for me to keep wearing. I'm also pumped for the Air Trainer SC in the OG knicks colorway, OG medicine ball Air Trainer 3, the cement Air Jordan 3 (I can never have enough pairs of them), and the safety orange 95's (even with the black suede mudguard)....those have been some shoes that have eluded me too many times on ebay.

Ashley (SolesistaAsh) and I were talking yesterday and I mentioned how guys beast over her on NT and other sites were both members of and she said that wasn't true and that I have a personal fan club on NT and I had to laugh. I did because there have been so many times where other people have worn the exact same shoe as me(sometimes in worst condition) and got plenty of compliments while I got nothing. I had to hit here with the "Nah, that's you", because on shoe forums, women are always going to get the most attention simply because they're women no matter what they're wearing.

On thursday a bunch of us Ex and a few still current CD/Game Exchange employees and managers got together at this bar on called the Fairmount in Cleveland Heights because Mike Simpson (another former CD/Game Exchange Co Manager...one of the best managers I've ever worked with)is the bartender and you know what that means.....Drinks for the low.

The Cavs/Celtics game was awesome, but Everyone around here is pumped that that they're tied with the Lakers for the best record in the NBA. People think I'm a hater, but I always respond back with "It's a long season".

I got newer faster internet service so I'm back on my blog. Yesterday, Myself, James, and Tim hung out with our ladies and Leah's matron of honor angelique. Tim beat the shit out of me and James on Smash Bros. I really hate that shit. Then it was guys vs girls taboo where we prevailed over the ladies 74 to 62. I got pretty gone like everyone else there. LOL. Before that Zarinah and I went shopping (she got some UGGs) and we went to dinner at Houlihans downtown. It was cool. Christmas just passed....It was pretty decent. It was over 40 degrees outside, and the Lakers beat the Celtics. Me, My Parents, My Sister, and Zarinah played monopoly where my dad pretty much took over once he got Boardwalk and Park Place. Work has been crazy with Christmas and After Christmas Sales. I will be so glad when 2009 gets here.

My Internet Hiatus is almost over. I was starting to feel that I'm on the net too much, but whatever. All I've been doing is working...grinding, and thinking about life and where I'm at in it. I've come to the conclusion that I'll never be too old for shoes. Never. There hasn't been anything new shoe wise that I've been excited about for awhile though. The Black Penny 2's weren't recieved that well in Cleveland like they've been in other places so I might be able to get them for the low in a little while, and I'm just not willing to pay 160 for the Pippens with that small ass bubble and the fact that my OG's are in excellent wearable shape doesn't help either. The Air Maxes have been boring, there haven't been any good trainers coming out, and I refuse to buy a Countdown pack for one shoe. I guess you could say that I'm in a shoe drought. LOL. The lovely Solesista Ash sent me a link to an ebay auction for some Pool Air Max 95's that were in my size (I couldn't believe it!!), but they finished at $398 and some change. I've never paid that much for a shoe and I wouldn't for those not knowing if they were gonna crack on me or not. I'm on the fence about those Black/Red Jordan 1's with straps even though you can take them off. I don't like any of the 23's that are supposed to come out at the end of the month, and I don't like that PHAT's all that much either even though it was a good idea I guess. I kinda want the LeBron 6's , but with most of his shoes, I just find myself getting them because I have all the others. LeBrons ALWAYS go on sale in Cleveland...limited or not unless they're Air Force 1's, so I might just wait it out. eh.

I got to catch up with my friend Kelli on the phone and I might go see her tomorrow since I don't have to work. She's going car shopping.

Questionable Decisions that I've made over the last few years and things that I'm into have me questioning if I'm in my 2nd Childhood. Past Opportunities, Jobs, Women....Even with the shoes.....Am I too old for this? Am I really where I need to be at almost 28??? This isn't a good feeling.

A lot of times when I listen to music nowadays, I feel like those old heads that used to tell me I didn't know what good music was back when I was a teenager in the 90's. So much music that comes out now is absolute crap...even from artists that have made shit that I like and own. I don't feel like Hip Hop is dead, I just feel like it's creators and purveyors are targeting a different audience...much like Jordan Brand is with some many great shoes that us old heads love and covet. When I was running CD/Game Exchange I used to just look in amazement at how all that new bullshit would sell....shit like Shop Boyz, Soulja Boy, Flo-Rida...I could go on and on.

The Cool Kids are a breath of fresh air for me. They've been around the last couple of years, but this year they finally came out with their CD "Bake Sale".

I LOVE IT.
I do because It's got an old school vibe to it. I got a kick of The Chicago Bull logo with sunglasses and the drawing of a Fire red Jordan 4 inside and on the disc.

The beats for the most part are excellent, and the subject matter isn't like what
most rappers today rap about. It is only an EP, but If you don't already own this CD or don't have it downloaded, get that shit!!!! It's definitely worth it.

Right now I'm just a little disgusted and dissapointed in some of the people that I call friends. I guess I'm stupid because I expect people to treat me the way I treat them. I guess in some instances, I'm too loyal. I guess I say this because If I'm your friend, I'm there for you when shit is good as well as when shit is bad, but when shit got bad for me this past summer, only a handful of people were actually there for me after I fell off. Now that things are seemingly getting back on track, some of those same niggaz and bitches that left me for dead are starting to come around again. I look at it like Scarface said once....FUCK ME THEN...FUCK ME NOW!!!

Most dissapointing is my best friend. He got married in August, and if you've read this blog before, I've posted pictures of myself with various people from that event. That shit was terrible. Now...me and this dude have been friends since 1991...and now that you've gotten married, you completely flip the script on a nigga after all I've done for you!!!! Nuff Said. Or is it? Now that I think about it, there's more for me to say. I'm glad that he won...no, not just because I'm a black man, but of the effect that this will have on things. There's finally someone for younger black males to look up to that's a positive public figure that's not an athelete or an entertainer. A man that puts emphasis on family, and who has a strong black woman at his side as he becomes one of the most powerful men (if not the most powerful) in the free world. This election actually made people feel good and have pride in voting. There were a lot of people around that were my parents age (Early 50's), that had never voted before until this election. This way my third time (2000, 2004, 2008), and I guess it's true what they say, the third time is the charm, because I'll never forget this as long as the good lord keeps me on this earth.

There are so many older people in my life that are choked up about this, and this was one of the few times in my 27 years and 11 months that I actually saw my father tearing up. History has definitely been made.

Thank you Jesus for bringing us such a wonderful man to lead our country like Barack Obama. Thank You.

Today was a nice day. It was 72 degrees...and for Cleveland, Ohio in November, that would put a smile on anyone's face who's been a resident here during our winters with freezing rain and lake effect snow and such. I rode the bus downtown to have lunch with my mom again, but this time it was much better since there weren't 300 teenagers from Toledo flooding Tower City like the last time I was down there.

So I come back home for awhile, and go back downtown to meet Zarinah for the Cavs Vs. Bulls game. It was her treat. First we went to get the tickets and then we went to Cleats at 4th and Prospect to Eat.

She caught me looking at SportsCenter and not listening.

I usually don't fuck with Loudville (Cavs Nosebleeds) because my dad usually always has season tickets where we go through the Mercedes Benz club which entails better, bigger, and more comfortable seating, plus all the food you can eat, and beer that you can drink. Now, I'm not completely fat, but I'm not skinny either so that's a bargain, and you don't have to pay those ridiculous ass consession costs because it's all included with the ticket. It was cool tonight though.

Reminisce Session #6: 1998 Air Max Plus

Another shoe that I love and feel lucky to have. I feel in love with these as soon as I saw them at Champs in fall 1998. I don't have OG's of this colorway, but I do have the retro. Other than the weird fit (I had to get these in a 12) and it being impossible to keep the mesh clean and the plastic clear looking (they improved that with the retro), this is one great running shoe and seems to be very popular overseas. I had the OG orange fire looking pair but they cracked on me in 2006. Nike has whored this shoe out releasing it far too many times and in too many different variations.I also think it looks like ass with the Air Max 97 bubble.

Nike Is Taking This Hybrid shit a little too far. These Hybrids are as bad as Nike Basketball (Excluding a few shoes LOL) was from 1999-2004.

It's finally here. Election day.

Since I had a change of address since the 2004 election, I had to vote with a provisional ballot. It was strange because I didn't have to do so when I voted for the primaries on March 4th. I also had to vote at a different place. Weak. That was the biggest part of my day though. Derek Anderson got benched so now we'll see what Brady Quinn is made out of....but he used to get beat down when he was Notre Dame's QB....We'll see. I also can't believe that Allen Iverson is going to be playing for the Pistons with Billups and McDyess going to Denver. Now that I think about it though, the Pistons have been trying to get Iverson since 2000. I guess they didn't try to get him that half of the 06-07 season that he sat out was because they felt they had the perfect team with the starting 5 being Billups, Hamilton, Prince, Wallace, and McDyess/Webber. I've always admired Allen Iverson's heart and the fact that he's not that much taller than me..doesn't weigh as much as me, and will still put his head down and go through the trenches.....however....He's not a team winner...he's an great individual, but not a team winner.

Today was a very chill day. I sold my PS2 and OG Nintendo DS because I just don't play them anymore. As long as I've got my older systems, I'm good. I had an early dinner with my father, and then I went to Zarinah's house to watch the Cavs play the Mavericks. They beat the Mavs down pretty bad. Maurice Williams caught fire and the Cavs took off. It had to be a good game if Wally Szcerbiak dunks right? LOL.

My Pair that isn't dead yet. The pic even comes up in google! This is my favorite Air Jordan of All Time. I love these. I have two pairs myself but one pair is completely unwearable and the other pair that has held up is slowly dying. I can't believe these haven't retroed yet but I guess Gentry and the other idiots at JB have viewed these as a risk because of the overly 90's "UMEN" (For you older heads like myself) type colorway. I could see them being a LS but these would be awesome if they just GR'd in lower quantities....sorta like the OG colorways 99 4's, the 03 Cement 3's, or the White/Flint Grey/Purple 7's from 06. I do have a theory that gives me some hope that we'll see these in the future. Every OG colorway of the 7 has been retroed except these. I also believe that they use other non traditional OG colorways as tests for future releases. I hated the fact that they made the Grape 5 a LS and when I got my pair, I paid 225 from NEXT because they were the only place in Cleveland with them....though City Blue ended up having them a few days later for 180.

I miss my Grapes and definitely regret selling them. Anyway, with the success of the Grapes, it looks as if JB felt more comfortable releasing the aquas (even with that awful dark grey....on the OG's the Grey is what set that shoe off) as a GR.

Maybe they're looking at the poor sales of the Olive 9's in 2002 that make them weary of retroing these.

Today was cool I guess....My damn sister kept calling me and waking me up about dumb shit though. Then work was alright. Me and my coworkers watched the Browns blow yet another close game and with Baltimore of all teams. Romeo Crennell is on thin ice and so is Derek Anderson. Then at the end of day my friend Nita called me and said she made me some dinner.....Fried Chicken (though I barely EVER eat chicken), Greens, String Beans, and Macaroni & Cheese. Me always being hungry, I told her to bring it up to the job. She brought it up just as soon as I was getting off so she gave me a ride home and we talked in my driveway for a lil' while about relationships, her kids, and what I want in a relationship. She's someone that I've thought of dating in the past.....but I just never have much luck dating women with children. I don't have anything against kids, but It'd be something that would be easier for me to do if I were a parent myself because your mindset is usually different. Now I'm about to eat.

Wow I haven't been off since Sunday!!!!!!! Hey, I'm tryin' to get money. LeBron was a good host, but it looked funny seeing him try to dance and be Jay-Z's halfway hypeman. Memphis Bleek was Jay's official hypeman though. I didn't get to take any good pics because they weren't letting people take their cameras in. This would've been a good time to be into Manbags, but not in this life. LOL. Upon leaving Quicken Loans Arena, Will and I witnessed some dumbasses get arrested for trying to stunt in a old ass Mercury Mountaineer with some door speakers, and two sets of chicks about to fight over a parking spot.

It's good to be back at work. Yesterday was my first day back. The last full day I worked was August 10th...and I had to laugh at myself, because after about 3 or 4 hours, I actually started to get tired. I gotta get back into work shape! LOL. Game Stop is SO different from CD/Game Exchange. Everything is so precise. I've been doing what they call "Gutting" where I take the game out of the case, but it in a paper sleeve and then price the case while the game is up front. At CD/Game Exchange all we used to do was lock the games in the case and customers would look in and tell us what they wanted. I've already raked in almost 20 hours in just two days. One thing I will miss though is getting paid every week. It came in handy especially for shoe releases. I'll get used to it though. Even when I was moonlighting at Champs Sports, I still had CD/Game Exchange money coming in. This is the first time I've had only one job and gotten paid every two weeks since 2000. I'm just thankful to be back on the right track. Thank You Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I Guess me going to see this guy for the third time in Concert sparked me to write about him like I did Tupac last week. What's weird is that I didn't like Jay-Z at all when he came out at the end of freshman year in 1996. I thought he was on the corny side and the only NYC rappers I really listened to at that time were B.I.G and Wu-Tang Clan. It started to change when I heard his Cameos on Lil' Kim's Big Momma Thang, Shaq's No Love Lost, and of course Love The Dough On B.I.G's life or death. It was gradual....I liked City Is Mine, but the OG version (Glenn Frey's You Belong To The City from the Miami Vice Soundtrack) has a big part in that.

Everything changed though in 1998.

Anyone who know's me knows that I LOVE SOUTHERN RAP!!!! I just do. The beats are just different and more to my taste. I was all about No Limit from say...1996 to 2000, and Master P was really the only dude out there owning his own shit, and making movies and all that. When I saw Jay-Z doing the same shit with Roc-A-Fella in their early days, I (with my 17-18 year old mindset) thought he was jocking Master P's Ideas....much like Cash Money Records would later do (That however, is for another blog at a later date!!! LOL), but again, everything would change.

Enter the Streets is Watching Soundtrack. Now....Vol. 1 in my lifetime was sorta popular....you had City Is Mine which I mentioned earlier, and Sunshine....another of many countless duets with Inga Marchand, better known as Foxy Brown and a Babyface sample (Though the video and CD say featuring Babyface), but Streets is Watching was more gritty but not overly New York Gritty.....and It's Alright with Memphis Bleek put Jay in a lot of living rooms and airplay that I don't think he had before....then right after that, you have Money Ain't A Thing on Jermaine Dupri's Life In 1472 that got constant airplay....and Then....

Volume 2 Hard Knock Life. Jay-Z's bread and butter. That CD that made him a mainstream star. People can say Reasonable Doubt all you want, but this CD is what got Jay constant videoplay on MTV. Volume 2 was so successful and boosted his popularity so much higher, they reissued Reasonable Doubt in December 1998.

We all know what came after.....and then like MJ, he retires and comes back to regain the top spot! In My Opinion Jay-Z is one of the greatest because of his perfect blend of street cred and mainstream appeal. I don't think a rapper has had that on such a universal level. He's not an all around entertainer like Tupac was, and I don't feel that he's better than B.I.G, but he's definitely the closest one to him. When I say universal, I mean an artist that can pretty much go anywhere in the world and sell out a concert.

Today was the best day I've had in a long time!!!!!!!!!! I was having some problems with my furnace and the people that were servicing it said that they wouldn't be able to get to it until monday, but by 9:00am the guy came and fixed it. Then my dad took me to Nile Valley restaurant on Lee Rd. for breakfast. I had a "T-Bone Steak, Cheese Eggs, and Welch's Grape" along with some great homefries. Then I met up with Big Shon, Jasmine, and Najma to wait in line for the free Jay-Z tickets at Shaker Square. The line was so long it seemed like it went all the way down to E.116. We were also filmed by Channel 3 (NBC). Some Cluck ass Bitch was trying to hate because I just showed up and was near the front of the line which guaranteed me 2 floor seats on the lower level.

Uneventful day today....just made some dinner...and put a bunch of music videos from my high school days on my zune. I put the Laneys up for sale on FSF and SF. The listing is still under review with Niketalk and NSB. They're a nice shoe, but I've wondered why they are so sought after? On PYS and Promo-Shoes among others, these cost more than the other 2000 Jordan 5's....even the OG colors. I always though these were OK....but I can clearly remember them being on sale for $59.99 in many places in late 2000 and early 2001. I guess it's just a matter of time for some kicks. The Mocha 3 is another one that was dirt in 2001 but people want badly now. I beat my pair up on purpose. They were only $39.99 when I got them from champs.....now I see them for 200+. I personally couldn't do it. I even feel that way about 11's.....I guess I look at shoes a little differently since I was old enough to buy and remember a lot of these as OG's and "OR's" (Original Retroes) Eh.

Today was a pretty cool day. I got hired at GameStop as an assistant manager and I start sometime next week. I've been in management before, but I've never helped open a new store before. The Air Jordan 6 is one of the few Air Jordans left that hasn't been whored out by Nike and Jordan Brand. Until the 6/17 countdown pack came out in May, the Black Infareds were the only OG 6 to release. I wonder why? Even though I was 10 and 11 when this shoe was new, this is when I really started getting into shoes and wanting them so the Air Jordan 6 is very special to me. I also met my best friend James because of these. We met in 5th grade when he had these and I had the black infareds and that started everything.....James hasn't had a pair of Jordans since. He's an adidas head now. The only Nike he has is some Air Alpha Force 2 in black/grey that I've never seen before, but we became friends over these 6's. He still says that his were better all these years later. He says this because Grade school Black Infareds were made out of leather. His were made out of leather too but so were the adult sizes. They changed this when they retroed the Black Infareds in 2000 though. This was also around the same time I started watching Basketball for real and even though I'm a Laker fan that bleeds purple and gold....and I love them enough to get their insignia tatooed on my left arm, the only time I can stomach watching them lose in an NBA final is 1991. This is when the Bulls finally broke through the hated Pistons and a Laker team that was good, but wasn't "Real" Showtime even though Magic was there. MJ was wearing these shoes in the second half of that regular season that led them to 61 wins and 21 losses to get the #1 spot in the east over the Pistons, The Celtics, and the 76ers. Had he not took care of business in these...other than the 1991 allstar game in Charlotte, the Black Infareds wouldn't have seen the hardwood.

These shoes are so awesome. But....being realistic....all Nike and Jordan Brand would do is make the red a darker true red like they did on the 2001 Black/Red Retro 11 and the 2006 White/Red Retro 14. It wouldn't be the same. Now, some won't agree, but the White/Maroon and Sport/September Blue pairs were boring to me then and now.....I'm not sure how they'd do now, but I don't remember many people having them then either....the most visible person with the Sport/September Blues was Jerry Seinfeld. MJ wore them once in Magic's All Star Charity game in Summer 1991.

These with INFARED...not TRUE RED would fly...Nike Air or not.....maybe we'll see them next year. I just don't trust JB though...they'd do some fuckery like make them a quickstrike or even worse a hyperstike.

Nothing much going on today....I missed the Riviera earlier though......I had a very uncomfortable ride downtown on the 14 today. A middle aged woman that smelled like my feet after a few hours of outdoor basketball fell on me and then mean mugged me afterwards, and a transit cop kept looking at me strange because the bus farebox was acting as if it didn't want to take my dollars. After all that I took my mom to lunch in the Tower City food court, but there were teenagers everywhere....I mean everywhere, then my mom had to get raw with the woman at McDonalds because she was acting like it was wrong for my mom to ask for dressing and croutons with her salad. After I walked her back to her job, I finally got Married with Children Season 9 from FYE. The cashier kept trying to get me to look at all their promo shit and I almost missed the rapid back home. After riding the bus downtown, there was no way I was gonna ride it back. The Rapid owns the bus daily.....the bus just runs more often.

I Miss My Grandmother...she would've been 83 today if she was living. She passed away on October 8, 2001. The void that her and my Grandfather have left will never be filled. Every holiday was an event on E.143rd between Milverton and Kinsman because everyone around that way knew of my Grandmother and her magnificent cooking. It may seem silly but there are certain things that I still refuse to eat because she's not alive to cook.

I do however feel fortunate that I had her in my life for 20 years and 10 months. My Grandfather wasn't the same after her passing, and all of us that were close and knew that when he passed 9 months after she did, that he'd died of a broken heart. They were married for 56 years until her passing. I do know that they were both saved people that had been accepted Jesus as their personal saviours so I knew that they'd gone to a much better place than here. RIP.

Today I was gonna wear my OG Playoff 8's, but I decided to retire them and start wearing the Retroes since I've only gotten a few wears out of them since they came out last December. I was blessed to handle my refund check situation and ran a few errands, but I didn't get to go to the Cemetary like I wanted to to visit my grandmothers grave. I spent some time with my dad and we shared some memories of my grandparents. I also filmed some more infomercials for him. Khrys called me specifically to argue about arguing with me both Saturday and Sunday which was fun (HEAVY SARCASM), but it did break up the boredum I was experiencing right before I started writing this.

I'm also bidding on some white/black/red DubZeros but my max bid is only $11.00...that's all I'm willing to pay for them. I've won much better stuff for less than my max bid on these hideous things. If I win great, if not oh well...

Reminisce Session #2. 1998 Wmns Air Max '95 "Pool"

These released in the late summer/early fall of 1998....around the same time or shortly after the Safety Oranges came out. A few of my female friends and classmates had these and I've wanted them ever since.

I Cannot put into words how bad I want these. I also can't put into words how hard it is to find a pair in my size. Since I generally wear a 10.5 to 11 (in most cases 11 though), I'd have to find these in a womens 12. That's damn near impossible. Every time I see them on Ebay, they're usually too small and in some cases too expensive. Last week a guy had a pair on there for 400. As bad as I want these, the most I'd probably pay would be 200, and that'd be pushing it. The Fresh Water 95's that are supposed to come out next spring are similar, BUT I WANT THESE. Does anyone have a womens size 12 they wanna sell me??????

Today is a lounge day. I don't really feel like going anywhere or doing anything other than eating and watching TV. The Browns come on at 4pm and I'm hoping that the win over the Giants boosts their moral to keep playing like that. Sorta like something to build on. So many things are fucked up right now on so many different levels with me that all I can do is pray..or should I say continue to pray, and stay positive. Anyone who's been around me lately can vouch for me that I've been very negative. One thing that sucks is that I had to sell my Riviera for scrap because the transmission was going bad and at the same time my brake caliburs snapped so I just decided to cut my losses and try to get something else, because I knew that with the winter coming, this car was gonna be more of a headache this year than it was last year. I had a lot of great adventures and misadventures in it....from bending up the frame and fucking up my rack by crashing into some rocks on the way to getting my Playoff 8's then almost getting into an accident because my steering wheel wouldn't turn , getting pulled over more than once for "Looking Suspicious", Dates, a cluck stealing a piece of the metal side awning off, trying to drive it after a cluck stole my catalytic converter off, Dudes giving me props on my sounds (which now sit in my dining room :( ), The starter going bad and me having to walk the rest of the way to work. Replacing too many things on it, countless meetups and snow blizzards...etc. You will be missed. RIP.

To me, this man is the greatest hip hop entertainer of our generation. Not taking anything away for B.I.G, but to me, this man holds this title. Lately this CD pictured is all I've been listening to along with Thug Life Vol. 1, Makaveli, and choice songs from the Above The Rim Soundtrack and Poetic Justice Soundtrack. I say greatest entertainer because of his ability to act as well as be one of the elite rappers when he was living. I always say when a recording artist is acting in a movie, and they play their character so good that I actually forget who they are in real life, they are doing a good job. LL has been in a lot of movies and to me, the only time he achieved that fully was in "In too deep". I will say that I don't really care for Tupac's Death Row releases as much because to me they were on a different vibe. Not saying that I don't own them, but I feel that Me Against The World is Tupac's best album, and him at his realest form.His charisma also is something that a lot of our top recording artist don't have. As much as I like Jay-Z, he doesn't have Tupac's charisma. B.I.G in his last interview said that he was looking to do some acting, and only god knows how that would've went, but I couldn't see him in movies all like that because it would've been hard for me to see him as anything but Biggie. There have been certain artists that have tried to take pieces of Tupac's persona and applied them to themselves...i.e...Ja Rule, DMX, and even in some cases Wayne. There have also been countless dudes that have tried to sound like him as well....i.e...Ja Rule (again), DMX (again), and Master P, and C-Murder in certain instances. I also don't like the pieced together releases that are still coming out even though this man has been dead for 12 years. I know his family has to eat too, but having been a record store manager the last 3 years, I've heard youngsters (teens) say that they didn't feel that Tupac was that great, but these are kids who have only heard the new releases....unfortunately I've heard the same from kids about B.I.G too so to me, that is a downside. People throw around the word legend nowadays, but I truly believe he's one. Sure he always didn't make the best choices, right decisions, and at times his music even seems a bit contradictory, but he's a legend. I don't think we'll ever see someone like him again.

Sweetest Day is a midwestern fall version of Valentines Day. I spent a nice part of today with Khrys, my ex.

It was cool for the most part. We went to Bravos in Woodmere which was good eating, then we went to Beachwood Place to look around. It was fucking hypebeast heaven up in there....every girl had a scarf of some sort....lookin' like fake ass billionheiresses, and every dude no matter what color he was looked like a fake ass Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, or Pharrell Williams. I saw my boy Mike who I used to work at CD/Game Exchange with. Nigga is runnin' shit up in the Clarks store now. Good Shit. Khrys was all about going to the Coach store, and I wanted to see what NEXT had to offer. I can't believe how much different it looks compared to the NEXT's by Randall and at Richmond. I had a good time for the most part, but near the end, we couldn't help but to get on each others nerves. Like I said, it was cool for the most part. Now I gotta find something to get into tonight........

Air Penny 2 Atlantic Blue

Today I found out that I had a partial Income Tax Refund check, but the place where I cash my checks at wouldn't cash it because it was dated 2/8/08. So now I guess I've got to go back to the place and get them to issue me another one. I can't really be that pumped about it....but it is gonna contribute to the groceries and I may get myself Married with Children Season 9 since it just came out. It's definitely a blessing though. Other than that, I went to my moms house and she let me use her computer (since she has windows 2007) to print my Resume'. I tried to get a job at TNT at Buckeye Plaza which would be great because I could wear my regular clothes, possibly get paid every week, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have to take a drug test....though it's been a good while since I had some weed anyway. They had the Penny 2 and some Air Terra Humaras I had never seen. It was also the first time in person I saw one of those new brown boxes Nike is using. Wow. I haven't bought a pair of shoes since the all Black Hyperdunk in august. Game Stop said they would call me next week so I guess all I can do is wait. The dude at TNT seemed impressed with my resume and Fuckish at the same time....hopefully it's not the latter of the two. I called my ex-girlfriend Khrys to see what was up and she reminds me that tomorrow is sweetest day (fake ass holiday but whatever!), so I might be hooking up with her, but it's no telling what type of fuckery she might have in mind....maybe not though.

Ahhh The Atlantic Blue Penny 2...........

What A great shoe! I'm glad I have a pair. Anyway, Niggaz on Niketalk are fretting because they aren't scheduled for release......but I say, why bother worrying? If you really want a pair, they seem to be cheaper than they've ever been on Ebay. I've seen more of these finish between 90-140 lately it's ridiculous, even the black pair!!!! I say it's ridiculous because there was a time when you couldn't find this shoe for less than 200-250 on Ebay in any of the three colorways. I will say that I share some NT'ers' sentiments on the fact that I'm stunned that they released the boring ass allstars over these, but knowing Nike, they'll just whore out this shoe like they've done all the other Pennys that have been retroed......

Air Penny 1....Retroed first in 2000 with the "Orlandos" being a quickstrike, the all blacks as a GR slightly revamped with more leather and a complete lack of blue unlike the OG all blacks, and the white/blue pair as a GR along with a new "Chicago" colorway. Returned as a reRetro in 2004-05 with nothing but
Retro+ colorways....Grey/White, White/Black, White/Red, and the Knicks colorway, then they Retroed the "Orlandos" and "Chicagos" again as GRs in holiday 2006. Completely killed this shoe.

Air Penny 2....Black/Blue released on 9/27, and the allstars are supposed to come out in November, they're also supposed to have a black and red colorway, but this is only the beginning....it's no telling what they have in mind for these....though I can't lie, I haven't got a black retro pair yet, but they're at the top of my list. They didn't change too much with them either....they did them like how they did the White Orlando Penny 4....by giving it a much brighter and more vibrant blue....and a much smaller bubble. LOL.

Air Foamposite One.....Let the whoring continue....after bringing back the true foam one in February 2007, they decided to keep that going by releasing virtually the same shoe as the foam pro...other than the swoosh on the side and the different bottom for 30 dollars more than the pro and 20 dollars more than the OG foam ones
($200). So far they've came out in All Black, Black/Red, Black/Cactus, Army Green, and they're supposed to make an eggplant colorway of these like the Flightposites that came out in 1999. Completely killed this shoe.

Air Penny 3....Scheduled to release both the Black/Blue, and the White/Liquid Blue colorways in Spring 2009....much like the Penny 2, only god knows what they have in store for these...maybe we'll see those all white liquid samples that they never released.

Air Penny 4.....First released in Fall 1998 around the same time as the Air Jordan 14 and the Air Pippen 3. This shoe has to have had the longest tenure of any sig shoe ever! The Air Penny 4 OG ran from Fall of 1998 To Spring 2001 and they came out in about 20 colorways.....bringing out the Black Orlandos twice!!! I guess that's why they didn't retro them in 2006, but even with them not bringing them back they still brought out about 15 colorways, most of which were undesirable. One thing I hated about this shoe was the fact that just putting them on your feet is a production in itself, and they should've made the strap across the tongue near the top removeable. They killed this shoe in it's OG run, the retroes just made it worse.

So, with the fact that they've pretty much killed or are in the process of killing every Penny, why would these be spared? Like I said on NT, other than the Penny 4 and it's OG run of 15-20 colorways, what OG colorway of a Penny haven't we seen? I'm sure we'll see these.

We've still got the Air Force High from 93, The Air Prevail, The Air Ups, The Air Go LWP (I consider that more of a Tim hardaway shoe), and the Air Flight One to look forward to I guess.....

We will see the Atlantic Blue pair again though.
